Review: “We Didn’t Do Anything Wrong, Hardly” by Roger Kuykendall (1959)

Posted on January 14th, 2008

Extremely short “gee whiz” kid story where boy genius and trusty sidekick manage to Macguyver up a spaceship, loop the Earth, and snag a non-working Russki satellite. Russki’s raise a fuss, so boys repair it and put it back into orbit. Backwards.

If that’s your bag, check it out at Project Gutenberg or Manybooks.net

Short tale of a Moon prospector named Evans whose tractor gets disabled by a meteor. Evans knows the search parties will come searching for him in four weeks when he doesn’t show up back in Williamson Town. Unfortunately, he only has oxygen for three weeks.

On the other hand, a Welshman takes a lot of killing and the residents of Williamson Town don’t give up on their own…

Recommended. You can find it at Project Gutenberg.
