Free Online Weekly SFF Magazine
Posted on July 30th, 2007
Strange Horizons is an online magazine that publishes original SFF short stories every week, as well as reviews, poetry, art, and regular contributor columns. Not only is the fiction good, but they have some pretty knowledgeable folks discussing the field of “speculative fiction” itself in the columns.
The best part is that they pay for submissions, but are discriminating in their choice of material. For example, the list of what they don’t want to see is much longer than what they do want to see. That policy eliminates the tired, overused story lines and keeps the content fresh.
Add to the above that the archives go all the way back to September 2000, and you have a vein of great content you can mine for years to come. Happy digging.
